Crowder Women’s Season Ends in Region 16 Semifinal Against No. 6 State Fair

SEDALIA, Mo. — The Crowder College women’s basketball team saw its season come to an end Tuesday night in the Region 16 Semifinals, falling to #6 ranked State Fair Community College, 98–83, on the road.

Crowder opened the game with strong offensive energy, shooting the ball well early and taking a 25–23 lead after the first quarter. The Roughriders knocked down perimeter shots and moved the ball effectively, finishing the game with 12 three-pointers and 18 assists.

The host Roadrunners responded in the second quarter, using second-chance opportunities to build momentum. State Fair outscored Crowder 30–21 in the period to take a 53–46 halftime lead.

Despite the deficit, Crowder continued to battle in the third quarter. Sophomore guard Aubri Wilson helped lead the offense, creating scoring opportunities and distributing the ball while finishing with 21 points and a game-high seven assists. However, State Fair extended its lead by five in the period to push the advantage to 79–67 heading into the fourth.

The Roughriders fought until the final buzzer, but the Roadrunners’ rebounding advantage proved difficult to overcome. State Fair controlled the glass 43–34, including 22 offensive rebounds, which helped maintain their lead down the stretch.

Barbara Perandini paced Crowder with a team-high 23 points, shooting 10-of-17 from the field while adding four assists and three steals. Lexie Henry contributed 14 points, knocking down four three-pointers, and pulled down seven rebounds.

Off the bench, ShaLyn Edmondson provided an efficient spark with 11 points on 5-of-6 shooting, while Camdyn Hart added five points, six rebounds, and three assists.

Crowder finished the night shooting 50.8% from the field and 48% from three, but turnovers and second-chance opportunities ultimately favored State Fair.

With the win, State Fair advances to the championship of the Region 16 Tournament, while Crowder concludes its season finishing 18-13.
