Crowder Falls at #13 State Fair, 83–68
Crowder College opened strong but couldn’t keep pace over four quarters, falling 83–68 to #13 State Fair Community College on Saturday afternoon at Sedalia.
The Roughriders jumped out to an early advantage, outscoring State Fair 26–17 in the first quarter behind balanced scoring and strong energy on the boards. Lexie Henry and Aubri Wilson helped set the tone offensively as Crowder shot confidently in the opening frame.
Momentum shifted in the second quarter as State Fair found its rhythm, using a 22–9 run to take a 39–35 lead into halftime. The Lady Roadrunners continued to build separation in the third quarter, outscoring Crowder 32–12 while shooting efficiently and controlling the rebounding battle.
Crowder responded with its best effort of the second half in the fourth quarter, winning the final period 21–12, but the early deficit proved too much to overcome.
Henry led Crowder with a game-high 21 points, knocking down four three-pointers, while Wilson added 14 points and three assists. Kylee Cole chipped in 10 points on efficient shooting, and Camdyn Hart contributed nine points and seven rebounds. Abbey Green anchored the interior with a team-high nine rebounds. Anja Sodergard dished out a team high four assists.
Crowder finished the game shooting 35.7 percent from the field and 31.0 percent from beyond the arc, while State Fair shot 43.2 percent overall and held a 48–41 rebounding advantage.
State Fair was led by Ellie Buscher, who posted 21 points and 12 rebounds, while Sophia Edwin added 14 points and five assists.
Crowder falls to 14-5 (2-1 Region 16). The Roughriders continue their tough road stretch as they travel to Poplar Bluff on Wednesday to take on #14 Three Rivers.
