Roughrider Softball Rules the Week

April 21 — Crowder 9, North Central Missouri 0

Crowder College opened the week with a dominant 9–0 shutout victory over North Central Missouri College, scoring in four of the five innings while limiting the Pirates to just two hits.

The offense was led by Karlee McCallister, who went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs, setting the tone from the top of the lineup. Layla Pasley added a homer of her own while scoring twice, and Josie Henson reached base three times, finishing 2-for-2 with an RBI and a walk. Evelyn Comstock chipped in two RBIs with a double, and Crowder collected 11 hits overall.

In the circle, Tessa Groeneveld was sharp, tossing four scoreless innings, allowing two hits while striking out four. Olivia Hemme closed the game with a perfect fifth inning, striking out two to preserve the shutout.


April 21 — Crowder 11, North Central Missouri 3

Crowder completed the doubleheader sweep with an 11–3 win, breaking the game open with a six-run third inning.

Karlee McCallister continued her big day, going 3-for-3 with two RBIs and three runs scored. Callie Cooper drove in three runs, while Evelyn Comstock and Rachel Clemenson each added RBIs. Crowder totaled 15 hits in the five-inning victory.

Olivia Hemme earned the win in the circle, working all five innings while limiting North Central to three runs and striking out three.


April 23 — Crowder 12, State Fair CC 1

Crowder delivered its most explosive offensive performance of the week with a 12–1 win at State Fair Community College. After scoring twice early, Crowder erupted for 10 runs in the sixth inning to put the game out of reach.

Madelief Croonen powered the offense, going 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs. Faith Evans recorded three RBIs, and Layla Pasley added a home run while scoring three times. Callie Cooper had three hits, and Crowder finished with 15 hits.

In the circle, Tessa Groeneveld and Olivia Hemme combined to hold State Fair to one run, striking out six while allowing just five hits.


April 23 — Crowder 5, State Fair CC 1

Crowder capped the day with a hard-fought 5–1 victory, scoring all five runs in the fifth and sixth innings to secure the sweep.

Layla Pasley led the way, going 2-for-3 with a stolen base and an RBI, while Madelief Croonen, Evelyn Comstock, and Rachel Clemenson each drove in key runs. Crowder made aggressive use of the running game, swiping multiple bases to apply pressure throughout the contest.

The pitching staff again delivered, as Jordan Goodell, Tessa Groeneveld, and Olivia Hemme combined to allow just one run on seven hits across seven innings.


Weekly Summary

Crowder College finished the week 4–0, outscoring opponents 37–5 and continuing to show balance between explosive offense and steady pitching. Karlee McCallister, Layla Pasley, Madelief Croonen, and Callie Cooper anchored the lineup, while Crowder’s pitching staff posted three games allowing one run or fewer.
