Track & Field Shows Strong Individual Performances at Central Missouri Invite

Men's Team

Crowder College men’s track and field athletes delivered several standout performances on March 20, 2026, at the University of Central Missouri Invite in Warrensburg, Missouri, competing against a deep field that included NCAA Division II, NAIA, and NJCAA programs. Distance Events Lead the Way

Crowder made its biggest impact in the distance races. Augustine Atodonyang claimed the 1500-meter title, crossing the line in 3:50.65 and setting a new persnal record, while teammate Sila Kiseo followed closely behind with a strong third-place finish in 4:01.77. Garrett Hankins also placed inside the top 10, finishing ninth in 4:10.94, giving Crowder three competitive performances in the event. [tfrrs.org]

In the 5000 meters, Crowder dominated the podium. Daniel Kipchumba earned the event win with a time of 15:05.10, while Brian Koech finished third in 15:39.55. Issac Willoughby and Eddy Fuentes added valuable experience by completing the race among a large field of competitors. [tfrrs.org]

The 800 meters also saw a solid effort from Junior Cordero, who placed fifth overall with a time of 2:00.21, continuing his consistent early-season form. [tfrrs.org]


Relays and Sprints

Crowder’s 4x400 relay team of Hayden VanGennip, Junior Cordero, Garrett Hankins, and Brian Koech posted a strong second-place finish, clocking 3:15.82 and setting a new school reord against quality competition. [tfrrs.org]

In the 400 meters, VanGennip represented Crowder with a time of 51.31, showing steady progress as the outdoor season continues. [tfrrs.org]


Women's Team

The Central Missouri Invite provided a valuable benchmark for Crowder College athletes, particularly in the distance events where multiple Roughriders earned top finishes. With wins in the 1500 meters and 5000 meters, along with a runner-up relay performance, Crowder demonstrated depth and competitiveness as the outdoor season gains momentum. [tfrrs.org]



Middle-Distance Performances

Crowder was well represented in the 800 meters, led by Arianna Blevins, who placed seventh overall with a time of 2:31.12. Teammate Shaine Korir followed closely, finishing in 2:36.98, while Faith Barnes and Justine Justice rounded out the Crowder contingent in the event, continuing to gain experience at the collegiate level. Distance Events

In the 1500 meters, Hope Barnes competed in a deep field and finished in 6:12.40, showing steady effort throughout the race. [tfrrs.org]

Crowder’s strongest showing came in the 5000 meters, where Vivian Kiprono led the Roughriders with a 10th-place finish and a time of 19:47.13. Jasmine Hayes also turned in a solid effort, finishing in 21:07.82, while Audrey Fletcher added valuable race experience in 22:48.06. [tfrrs.org]

The Central Missouri Invite provided an important developmental meet for Crowder College’s women’s program. With multiple athletes competing across the middle- and long-distance events, the Roughriders continued to build fitness and confidence while measuring themselves against quality regional competition.
