2026 Indoor Track Season Summary

The 2026 indoor season was a defining campaign for the Crowder College Roughriders, marked by breakout distance performances, growing relay depth, and multiple national qualifiers. With strong showings at the Pittsburg State Invitational, MSSU Lion Open, Russ Jewett Indoor Gorilla Classic, and the Northwest Tune-Up, the Roughriders now set their sights on the NJCAA Indoor National Championships the first weekend of March.


Pittsburg State Invitational – January 31, 2026

Crowder set an early competitive tone at Pittsburg State.
Women:

  • Shaine Korir opened the season in the mile (5:55.00).
  • Jasmine Hayes (21:15.94) and Audrey Fletcher (21:31.63) ran steady 5000m marks.
  • Women’s DMR finished 8th in 16:35.41.

Men:

  • Sila Kiseo (4:26.52) and Garrett Hankins (4:29.66) ran solid mile efforts.
  • Augustine Atodonyang posted a top‑10 3000m (8:38.92), with Brian Koech close behind (8:42.47).
  • Daniel Kipchumba turned in a competitive 5000m at 15:21.09.

MSSU Lion Open – February 6–7, 2026

The Roughriders displayed major growth at Missouri Southern.
Women:

  • Justine Justice (800m – 11th), Abigail Van Amber (mile – 10th), and Jasmine Hayes (3000m – 6th) all delivered key marks.
  • Women’s DMR earned 2nd place in 14:54.09.

  • A breakout 800m group: Brian Koech (1:57.94 – 2nd), Sila Kiseo (1:59.83 – 5th), Augustine Atodonyang (2:00.27 – 6th), Daniel Kipchumba (2:03.22 – 10th).
  • Garrett Hankins took 2nd in the 3000m (9:27.25), with Eddy Fuentes 7th.
  • Men’s DMR finished 2nd in 10:33.93.

11th Annual Russ Jewett Indoor Gorilla Classic – February 13–14, 2026

A major highlight of the season, Crowder excelled in one of the region's deepest meets.
Women:

Men:

  • Junior Cordero ran 1:58.73 in the 800m.
  • 3000m success continued with:
    • Augustine Atodonyang6th (8:32.06)
    • Brian Koech – 12th (8:40.12)
    • Sila Kiseo – 29th (8:52.17)
  • Daniel Kipchumba ran 15:24.28 in the 5000m.

Northwest Tune-Up – February 19, 2026

The Roughriders’ middle‑distance corps closed the regular season with another strong set of 800m marks.
