Sam Major became the head coach for men’s and women’s golf in its inaugural year of 2022. Sam is a lifelong resident of the area. After graduating from Neosho High School Coach Major earned his Associate of Arts – General Studies degree from Crowder College. While he plays a major role in family business ventures his love of golf could be fulfilled in coaching for the new Roughrider program.

“I feel honored to have been chosen as the head coach. It is such an opportunity to get this program started and begin competing with very bright and talented student-athletes,” stated Major.

While his competitive golfing days in high school are in the past, his love of the game and desire to build the program will benefit the student-athletes as well as the college and community.

Coach Major is responsible for both the men’s and women’s programs.
