Crowder traveled to Sedalia to play in the Region 16 Showcase against Jefferson and Three Rivers. Fridays match up was with Jefferson. The Roughriders got off to a slow start but outscored the Vikings 14-11 in the first quarter. The teams traded baskets in the second quarter and despite giving up a lay-up at the buzzer Crowder led 31-30 at the half. The Roughriders had a nice run in the third quarter outscoring Jefferson 20-14 and led 51-44. An early fourth quarter lead saw Crowder go up by as many as 14 points and they held on down the stretch for the 71-61 win. Freshman Teri Leaf had a career high 23 points on 7 for 9 shooting from behind the arc. Makayla White added 16 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks. Freshman Gabby Adams added a career high 11 points. Leaf and Nathalia Silva handed out five assists each. Adams and Ashley Reichert each had two steals.
On Saturday Crowder faced the defending Region 16 Champion and #20 ranked Three Rivers. The Raiders came out of the gates running and never looked back as they outscored Crowder in every quarter in the 89-61 win. The Roughriders couldn't do much of anything right on Saturday and turnovers led to easy buckets for Three Rivers. Crowder was led by Makayla White's 18 points. Ashley Reichert and Maia Wright chipped in 10 points each. Wright led with 5 rebounds. Nathalia Silva, Thathianna Sysavanh and Gabby Adams all had 3 assists. Jonisha Rolle led with 3 steals. Crowder is 6-4 on the season and travels to Redlands on Tuesday for a 3:00 PM game.
