Crowder hosted the Don Wilson Classic this weekend. In Friday's game the Roughriders took on the Belles from Seminole. After one half of play the game was tied up at 33 all. Seminole got hot from behind the arc with 6 treys in the third quarter to take a 59-53 lead into the fourth quarter. Crowder struggled offensively in the fourth and lost 79-61. Fiona Wilson led Crowder with 20 points and Makayla White chipped in 14 and 9 rebounds. Maia Wright led with 4 assists while Wilson and Nathalia Silva had 2 steals.
The Roughriders took on Metropolitan on Saturday. The Lady Wolves jumped out to a 21-16 lead after one quarter. In the second quarter the Roughriders outscored Metropolitan 15-10 and the teams went into the half tied at 31 all. Crowder outscored the visitors by two to hold a 44-42 advantage after three quarters. The Roughriders were down two with 19.5 to play but two shots to tie it up caromed off and Metropolitan won 64-62. Ashley Reichert led Crowder with 18 points and Nathalia Silva chipped in a career high 14 points. Maia Wright had a team high 12 rebounds. Teri Leaf led with 3 assists and Makayla White had 2 steals. Crowder falls to 4-3 on the season. They host Oklahoma Wesleyan JV on Tuesday night at 6:00 PM.
