Crowder picked up it's first Region 16 win of the season over State Fair on Wednesday night. A big fourth quarter in which the Roughriders outscored the Roadrunners 24-11 fueled them to a 73-69 win. Crowder was down nine with three minutes to go before getting back to back 3-point baskets from Kourtney Shipley and Maegan Bandimere. Shipley then hit another triple from the corner to give Crowder the lead. Shipley hit 3 of 4 free throws to put the game out of reach. Crowder held the visitors scoreless the last 3:14 of the game. Alex Vogt had another big game leading the Roughriders with 20 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 blocks. Shipley had 15 points on 3-4 shooting from behind the arc and 4 steals. Elle Williams had 10 points and 4 assists. Bethaney Gilkey and Maia Wright had 7 and 6 rebounds respectively, while Wright dished out 4 assists as well. Crowder improves to 8-12 and 1-1 in Region 16. The Roughriders travel to Jefferson College on Saturday for a 2:00 PM game.
