The Crowder Women's Basketball team opened up the 2018-19 season on the road at the North Arkansas Classic. On Friday night they faced National Park in what was a close game throughout its entirety. The Roughriders led 16-15 after one quarter and 32-26 at the half. Crowder had a nine point lead after three quarters but could never pull away from National Park and held on down the stretch for the 71-64 win. The Roughriders had four players in double figures led by Sydney Linny's 14, Elle Williams' 13, Maia Wright's 11 and Maegan Bandimere's 10. Wright had a team high 9 rebounds and Bandimere led with 3 assists.
Saturday afternoon the Roughriders jumped out to an early 7-1 lead on Lake Land and lead 18-13 after one quarter. Lake Land took the lead at the half 38-30. The third quarter was the difference in the game as Lake Land outscored the Roughriders 21-6 and coasted to a 76-58 win. The Roughriders were led Elle Williams 17 and Maegan Bandimere's 13 points. Williams also led with 8 rebounds and Bandimere with 3 assists. Crowder is 1-1 on the season and hosts MSSU JV in their home opener on Tuesday night at 6:00 PM.
