The Roughriders lost on the road at Iowa Western Saturday afternoon, 89-70. There were a lot of points scored in the first quarter capped off by Elle Williams' deep 3 pointer at the buzzer to pull Crowder within in 1 at 24-23. The Roughriders had an ice cold second quarter in which they only scored 6 points and found themselves down 41-29 at the half. The Reivers outscored Crowder 30-16 in the third quarter for a 71-45 advantage after three quarters. Crowder was able to outscore Iowa Western in the final quarter 25-18 but it wasn't enough to mount a comeback. The Reivers dominate the glass all day and ended with a 52-25 advantage. Crowder had three players in double figures led by Elle Williams with 15. Coley Ickes and Alex Vogt chipped in 14 and 13 points respectively. Vogt led the team with 8 rebounds. Michaela Mack had a team high 3 assists while Morgan Crawford led with 3 steals and Maegan Bandimere with 2 blocks. Crowder drops to 12-5 on the season and will open up REgion 16 play next Saturday as the travel to Park Hills to take on Mineral Area at 2:00 PM.
