Crowder jumped out to an 11-0 lead and never looked back in beating Region 16 foe Jefferson College, 73-36 on Saturday afternoon. Crowder led 20-5 after one quarter and 43-9 at the half. The Roughriders struggled from the field in the third quarter only outscoring the Vikings 18-17 to hold onto a 61-26 advantage. The fourth quarter was much the same as Crowder outscored Jefferson 12-10 for the final outcome. Sophomore Coley Ickes had an all around good game with 16 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal. Elle Williams and Zahria White chipped in 13 and 12 points respectively. Crowder had five other players besides Ickes that each had 4 rebounds in Michaela Mack, Morgan Crawford, Alex Vogt, Bethaney Gilkey, and Elle Williams. Crawford led the team with 6 assists and 3 steals. Vogt had a team high 3 blocks. Crowder improves to 16-6 and 3-1 in Region 16 play. The Roughriders next game is on the road at #7 ranked and unbeaten Moberly Area Community College on Wednesday night at 6:00 PM.
